General Programmes

The general academic programme is open to all students who have completed compulsory school. Courses in this programme vary from school to school. Each school organises the programmes they are going to offer and publishes their school curricula.  This programme suits students who are undecided regarding what programme of study they would like to pursue, and for those who want to acquire skills in a specific area. Students can enrol in the general academic programme for a number of reasons. Some need to finish a small amount in a core subject in order to continue on to another programme and others need to improve the skills and knowledge that they completed in compulsory school in order to continue on in upper secondary school. This programme of study may take one to two years depending on the needs of students and the ability of individual schools to meet their needs. Each school organises their programme and defines it in their school curriculum.
